Process
We'll work with you throughout the project; each step builds on those before it, and open communication is essential.
THE SCOPE:
We'll begin by talking about you and the results you seek from your design. We'll ask about your goals, your competitors, the message/impression you want to deliver/make. We'll talk about who you are (and who you're not). We'll use these specifications to come up with a creative brief.
CREATIVE BRIEF:
Based on our discussions, we'll finalize the design criteria. Our research + your feedback = an initial design direction, timeline and costs.
RESEARCH:
Based on the brief, we'll look at your current market position and evaluate possible solutions along with strengths, weaknesses, costs, and development needs. We'll determine and recommend the best options for your organization in terms of structure, content, technology, and functionality. We'll present you with examples of images, colors, and styles, and we'll discuss the design direction.
DESIGN:
Your feedback from the research phase will determine the basis for the design concepts. We'll produce options for the project's overall design. The goal is to balance visual appeal, positive impact and usability. We'll try different directions, and test each: Would it hit your goals? Is the message clear? Once we've chosen approaches, we'll present them for feedback. You'll approve the final direction of the design and we'll begin to get down to details and add further refinement.
CRITIQUE & REVISION:
You'll see the concepts and have opportunity for feedback. We'll refine the design as discussed and begin developing the intricate pieces of the project (web programming, print layout, the final illustration). This step is crucial to the overall success of the engagement; you'll be responsible for signing off on the design each step of the way.
DEVELOPMENT:
We'll explain the technical processes needed to develop your solution, and begin building the project.
MORE CRITIQUE & REVISION:
Periodic interaction with you will ensure we're on the right track.
DESIGN APPROVAL:
Based on the creative brief, we'll present our final product and request your final approval, after which your design solution will be delivered.
